We Ride for Pelotonia

Help me raise money for cancer research

Pelotonia is a little over two weeks away, and I’m very excited. This is the first year that Eric and I will be participants, and we’ll be riding 50 miles from Columbus to New Albany. Eric will be representing Team ScottsMiracle-Gro, and I am proud to be riding in the super peloton, Team Buckeye!

Our Rides

Eric and I have been training all summer. The first ride was a mere 10 miles, but they have been getting longer and longer. Over the Fourth of July weekend, we took a trip to Amish Country for a 30-mile route on the Holmes County Trail. It was a step back in time! The trail connects Fredricksburg to Killbuck and is primarily used by the Amish. We saw more horses than cyclists on the trail, and it was beautiful.

Most recently, we followed the Alum Creek Trail from Jeffrey Mansion to Obetz and were treated to a fun downhill and hill climb called Oxbow Loop.

This week, we’re aiming for 50 miles! Our route will take us from Galloway to South Charleston and back. We won’t be racing there, but we will be challenging ourselves by maintaining a speed of 14-16mph. We will be taking short breaks in London, finding a place for lunch in South Charleston, and enjoying the time we’re spending together.

People are stunned when we say that we’re riding 50 miles, but they don’t realize that it’s taking 200+ miles to get there!

We’re doing the hard part, and you can play a part as well by making a donation!
